Status Code 14 are starting their campaign to race the Talisker Atlantic Ocean Row in 2022. It’s a wonderful to be joined by a team that have just completed the race and one that is getting ready to go to share experiences.
Status Code 14 will be completing a channel swim, rowing the Atlantic, an ultra marathon and a Hike and Fly from Mont Blanc.
Team Status Code 14 want to enable those who ‘press the button’ to get the help they need both with stress in the short and long term, through the support of Rock 2 Recovery charity. Funds raised from our challenges will go to our first chosen charity who support the cause, and direct to individuals who may not be able to access the support they need through what’s offered by the emergency services.
Talking about opening up, this leads us on to our second charity, The Chestnut Appeal. When it comes to men’s cancer, most men don’t know what’s normal and what’s abnormal – and are afraid to ask.
StatusCode24 told us ‘It’s an amazing opportunity for us, to be part of this new event is so exciting.
For us to be able to share the stage with the likes of ‘The Atlantic Flyers’ on their return from their Atlantic crossing and being able to listen to ‘Kate McCabe’ after her circumnavigation of Britain, will be invaluable to us as we prepare to take on the ‘The Worlds Toughest Row’ in December this year.
We will be rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic, pulling over 1.5 million oar strokes, burning over 5000 calories a day in a 2 hour on 2 hour off shift pattern and aiming to do it in under 38 days, 14 hours and 32 minutes.
Come and say hello, see our boat and how and where we will be rowing, sleeping, eating and find out, who we are, what we are doing and why.
