Things are really hotting up for the inland sector at SBS BoatLife Show 2023 with an exciting display anticipated for the second year. To date we have a fantastic range of narrowboats being exhibited on the NEC floor, including three 60ft+ beauties from Collingwood, and potentially more to join the line-up! These include:
1 x Viking Widebeam
3 x Collingwood – 2 x 60ft (inc 1 x Widebeam), 1 x 70ft Widebeam
1 x Swan Boat Builders
1 x Lakeland Leisure
1 x ABC Boat Hire
1 x Oakums
1 x Wilderness Beaver 23 trailable boat
Also representing the leisure sector for inland waterways, Banks Martin will be showcasing a Beaulieu 30, 5 Henley and a 9 Henley plus a 275 and 215 from the Viking range. Bray Marine Sales will also bring two Balt, two Alonsea and a GS25 cruiser to add in the mix.
There will be the opportunity to meet first timers Boat Sales & More, launching into the world of inland waterways boat brokerage, as well as highly established ABNB, who celebrate 28 years of trading as a boat broker in this sector in 2023. The 60ft fully electric drive narrowboat featuring a reverse modern layout from Swan Boat Builders is building a great deal of interest for their inaugural trip to BoatLife, while something a little different is the compact and trailable Wilderness Beaver 23 (plus trailer) exhibited by Clearwater, offering a unique space-saving proposition. Displaying a narrowboat at the show again, ABC are running a great competition to win a short break, currently being promoted by BoatLife. In addition, they will bring breaking news of their new electric day boat due for launch next year. Aqueduct Marina, the first to receive Clean Marina accreditation, are running a fabulous incentive for visitors to their stand. On display of a show ticket, they will receive either a free week’s mooring or a free slipway – this really is a great giveaway!
Ambassador for this zone, Elizabeth Earle will be on hand to chat about her liveaboard lifestyle on narrowboat Maggie together with plans for a historical tour of UK waterways in 2023, Richardson’s Boating Holidays will be highlighting the beauty of time spent cruising the Norfolk Broads and professional boatbuilders Ovation Boats have just advised us they have build slots available for completion towards the end of 2023.
On the Live Stage is young university graduate and new boat owner Johnny will be on stage telling his story of how he moved to a rural fishing village and invested all of his savings into buying an old 46 seat emergency oil rig lifeboat he named Orla, that didn’t have an engine or even float. It’s a huge project, and one Johnny is documenting on YouTube and has over 18 million views on TikTok. His mission is to transform Orla into the coolest eco-friendly home!
